If you are a Technical or sport diver looking for custom blended Nitrox, Trimix, and Pure Oxygen fills in the Federal Way, Puyallup, Tacoma or Olympia Region...look no farther!

Technical Diving and Supply located in Lakewood is your source for these difficult to find gasses.

Dive gas for technical divers blended by a technical diver with a TDI Master Gas Blender Certification

Our state of the art system was designed, built and installed new in 2004 for one reason. To blend Trimix and Nitrox and to fill deco cylinders for open circuit and rebreather technical divers.

The system consists of a custom blending panel which takes Aviator Grade Oxygen and Ultra High Purity Helium from our banks and directs it to your cylinders through our new Masterline 7000A2 oxygen service booster pump. Our compressor is a new Nuvair 7.0 single phase 5 hp electric with a Coultri pump. Nitrox less then 38% is stick blended for consistancy and monitored on the output side for CO and PPO2 on the fly. The Booster ensures your aluminum deco cylinders and rebreather oxygen cylinders are topped all the way to 3000 psi. We also bank 50/50 Nitrox.

Our longstanding association with Airgas insures that we have the best gasses in the amount we need at very competative prices. All our fills are calculated for sale by the cubic foot. This means if you have gas left from your previous dive, we use what we can in your next mix.

When you drop off your cylinders, we measure the pressure on a super accurate digital pressure gauge, and analyze the current mix. We then consult our computer blending software program and enter these numbers and the desired mix and final pressure. It calculates exactly the amount of gasses you need to complete the fill. This way we don't waste any gas you have unless the new mix requires that we blow down to a given starting point.

Partial Pressure Trimix blending is a very exacting science. To get it right, it must be done slow to minimize heating. The gasses must be at the numbers and stable at ambient temperature before the next gas is added. Then when all the gasses are added, the cylinders are topped off, cooled and topped off again until the final desired fill pressure is also stable at ambient temperature. The cylinders are then allowed to sit until all the gasses mix to the point that a valid analysis can take place. Done properly, very accurate mixes are the result.

Safety and accuracy are our number 1 priorities. When you arrive to pick up your cylinders, you will be expected to analyze and sign a fill log which shows you know what the gas is and that you accept it as ordered. This way you can dive it with confidence knowing it is exactly what you think it is.

Current Prices per cubic foot are

Helium  $0.95

Oxygen $0.35

Air         $0.10   with a $2.00 minimum

Argon    $1.00 Prices are subject to change as the cost of Helium and Argon are very dynamic. You will be given a total price at the time you drop off.

Important: When you bring your cylinders in for drop off the first time, you must show your C-card which is photo copied for our records. We need to know you are trained and certified to dive the gasses you are ordering. With your card on file, no further proof will be needed.

Understand, no blending will begin until you have provided your certification documents.

Advanced Nitrox certification is required for oxygen partial pressures above 40%. Basic Trimix will allow oxygen partial pressures of 21% and up. Advanced Trimix will allow oxygen partial pressures below 21%.

Rebreather divers must show certification for the unit they intend to dive with.

No filling of pre 1988 aluminum cylinders of T6351 alloy.

Current Hydro and VIP must be indicated on the cylinder. Cylinders clean for oxygen service must have a current VIP placard indicating so. PSI Visual inspections and their placards are preferred.

Cylinder Inspection and Maintenence

We provide a comprehensive cylinder inspection and maintence service for all your cylinders.

Craig is a Professional Scuba Inspectors (P.S.I.) inspection technician #18428. He will visually inspect your cylinders to P.S.I and D.O.T Standard and advise you of the condition. If needed, we can send the cylinder out for hydrostatic testing as needed. We are equipped to provide oxygen cleaning of the cylinder and valve/manifold, cylinder tumbling for rust removal. We use Super Blue Gold cleaner and ceramic media on steel cylinders, and glass beads with Blue Gold on aluminum cylinders. A written record of the cylinder inspection will be provided to you and kept on file with us.
